I take great pleasure in giving my testimony of what Christian Science has done for me, for my heart is so full of thankfulness to God that my great desire is to let others know of my experience. Two years ago I was compelled always to use one and much of the time two crutches to get around to attend to my household duties. I had felt rheumatism coming on for the past two years, and it continued to become worse constantly, although every remedy brought to my notice was tried. My family felt I must give up so much care, and finally persuaded us to rent our house and take a small apartment, where the demands upon me would be few and yet my husband and I would have a home.
Our location made, I learned that the landlady was a Christian Scientist and that a practitioner had rooms near by. I had never given Christian Science any thought, but naturally it was soon presented to me, as both landlady and practitioner had received most wonderful blessings through it. I became much interested in it and anxious to know it by personal experience. I now have a desire to tell all the lame people I meet of the wonderful Physician waiting to bless them if they will only let Him. My crutches have been discarded, and I am able to do the work in my home with ease.
My husband came home one day disconsolate. He had suffered terribly for a night and a day with his knee. I advised calling the practitioner who had done so much for me, and he did so. In two days he was well. The previous attack had kept him confined to bed almost three weeks. In the words of Scripture I can say, "Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance."— Portland, Ore.
