In 1911, a growth, commonly called a wen, was cut from my head by a surgical operation. At the same time a tiny one was apparently removed, too; but some time afterwards I found that the small one was still there. It continued to grow almost imperceptibly for some years; but I did not really trouble about it, as I could cover it with my hair. In 1920 it was becoming too large to cover.
In the meantime Christian Science had come into my life, and I tried to gain sufficient understanding of the truth for the removal of this false growth. In 1921, however, as it was becoming unsightly, I asked for help from a practitioner. This was lovingly given, and after about four months the growth began to discharge naturally and continued thus for about a month, when it disappeared. For this healing, also for the healing of a wart and gradually enlarging finger joints, for which treatment was given me by the same practitioner, I am most deeply grateful. I used to search the testimonies for the healing of a wen, and I am sending the account of my healing with the hope of helping some one else suffering from the same difficulty.
Christian Science was brought to me in 1914 by friends; and it was through the faithful sending of the literature by one of these friends for many months afterwards that my awakened interest was kept growing. For some time previous to this my thought had been reaching out for spiritual enlightenment, and I feel sure that it was in answer to this great desire for more light that Christian Science came to me. Upon looking back over these years, I note a gradual uplift of my whole life, periods of great depression from which I formerly suffered having been replaced, to a great extent, by calmness and uplifting of thought.
