About four years ago a friend was healed of rheumatoid arthritis by Christian Science treatment. I had never heard of Christian Science before, and began to wonder if it could heal my little boy, who was nearly two years old and was suffering from what the doctors called fluid on the brain. They said he would never be like other children, and would always be a great trouble. A practitioner was sent for and she told me that my child could be healed; that nothing was impossible to God; that in Him we live, move, and have our being. Through the realization of the truth my child was healed. For months previously there had been no natural action of the bowels. The child has never had a dose of medicine since, and is to-day quite happy, intelligent, and healthy. Words cannot express our gratitude. There have been many other healings in our home: asthma, blood poisoning, influenza, boils, and other ills have been overcome, some by our own realization of the truth; others have not yielded so quickly, but with help have been overcome.
The help during childbirth was truly wonderful. I could not close this testimony without expressing my gratitude to the dear practitioner for her patience and loving help; and above all to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, as well as to Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which explains the Bible to us so clearly. We are grateful for the Christian Science literature and the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, which have become our daily food; for membership in The Mother Church; for the local church services; and for the Sunday school, where the children are taught this beautiful truth; also, for the Church Manual, which is a guide to right living. It is my one desire to do unto others as I would have them do unto me, and to have the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus."— New Mills, Derbyshire, England.
