Christian Science has met our every need for the past nineteen years, and I am more than grateful to have had the privilege of finding it at an early date, when I was enabled to place the children at the age of three in the Sunday school, where they grew up in this blessed truth. However, I applied Science before they entered the Sunday school, so they have never had material aid in times of sickness; but when the difficulty seemed too real for me to overcome I was always blessed with the help of a practitioner. Over this period Christian Science has never failed me when properly applied. Discouragement in its various forms, self-pity, sorrow, sickness, including measles, chicken pox, and other rashes for which I never tried to find names, weeping eczema, quinsy, nervous breakdowns, stomach trouble, headaches in the severest forms, colds, and numerous other ailments, as well as financial difficulties, all have vanished. During this period of adjustment, we again demonstrated God's allness by refusing to accept the belief of unemployment. While the burden was heavy, yet with proper thinking and cooperation on the part of every member of the family, an adjustment was made and all is well.
I should like to tell of a healing which is outstanding. My husband, our three children, and I were laboring under influenza. Although I was so weak that with each step I took it was necessary for me to know that God is my strength, yet with the help of a practitioner I was able to attend the rest of the family and to do the greater part of my housework. The condition lasted only a short time, however, perhaps a week, and I was able to be about my duties without any sense of fatigue or discomfort whatever. The children, too, were free in the same way. But my husband, who was under the care of a physician, suffered a relapse. One day when I entered the room the doctor said to me, "Now you help me get him out of bed." I explained that we could not serve two masters, but he said, "Oh! but you can help, your prayers will help; I can do no more for him." I immediately called a practitioner and explained the case to her and she took up the work, and in less than three days my husband was up and about, much to the surprise of the doctor.
I could go on indefinitely telling of the healings, both physical and mental, which were brought about with the application of Christian Science during this period, but will only add that I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and also a branch church. On many occasions I have been the means of helping others to find this blessed, liberating truth, which our beloved Leader so lovingly and unselfishly gave to us.— Cheviot, Ohio.
