From the February 1939 issue of The Christian Science Journal

[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, December 24, 1938]

The circulation and use of handwritten or typewritten papers containing copies of articles, letters, or sayings attributed to the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, has decreased to a gratifying extent in the last few years. Yet, the circulation and use of such papers still persists to an extent that is surprising in view of Article IV, Section 1, and Article XXI, Section 3, of our Church Manual.

The authorized literature of Christian Science other than Mrs. Eddy's letters is never in the form of handwritten or typewritten papers. It is always in print, and always bears the name of its publisher. These two facts ought to be generally known, and the knowledge of them should be an effective warning against anything not published by the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, by her previous publishers, or by The Christian Science Publishing Society.
