From the October 1955 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Board of Trustees of The Christian Science Publishing Society has announced the election of Henry Allen Nichols, C. S., of Los Angeles, California, as a member of that Board, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the passing of James G. Rowell, C. S. B., who for more than twelve years has given faithful service in that capacity in addition to his work as a teacher and practitioner of Christian Science. Prior to his service as a Trustee, Mr. Rowell served for many years as a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

The election, which has the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors, was held in accordance with Article XXV, Section 3, of the Manual of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mr. Nichols has served as a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship since 1951. His retirement for a period of rest and study was announced at the Annual Meeting in June, 1955.
