OF the many blessings that have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science, I count the privilege of class instruction as the most precious. For the renewed inspiration that comes with each year's association meeting, I am deeply grateful.
Until I realized that there is no real happiness in the pursuit of material pleasures, my life was a series of disappointments and trials. Despondent over the loss of my husband and struggling with the responsibility of raising two small children, I had reached the place where I felt life was more of a burden than I was able to cope with. I succumbed to the temptation to seek happiness and forgetfulness in materialistic social activities, but they left me with a feeling of degradation which only worsened my condition. Then, completely at the end of my endurance, I was led to turn to Christian Science.
For five months I devoted my entire time to the diligent study of this Science. During this time it was necessary for me to give up my position, but I found that divine Love meets our every need. The years that have followed have brought me untold blessings. The daily unfoldment of Truth in my consciousness has enabled me to grow spiritually and has helped me to overcome faults which would hinder that growth. Through the demonstration of Truth I have been completely healed of the smoking habit and of social drinking. I have remarried and have found a companionship which has given me much joy and comfort. A home has been established that not only has provided my own two children with the security they need, but has supplied that same security to my husband's two children by his previous marriage. Indeed, "my cup runneth over" (Ps. 23:5). Physical healings in our family have been numerous and have included those of impetigo, sinus infection, and oak poisoning.
