Testimonies of Healing

As a young student of Christian Science...

From the February 1970 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As a young student of Christian Science, I have often wondered if there would ever be a real urgency for me to know the truth. One evening this urgency came about. My boyfriend and I were starting to return home in my car when there was a tapping on the window of the passenger side. The door was suddenly opened, and a man pointed a gun at us and said, "I am an escaped convict from the State Penitentiary and the police are hot on my trail."

Then he unlocked the back door, climbed in, and put the gun to my friend's head. He then said, "Do exactly as I say and you won't get hurt. Now, lady, drive."

I had already begun to pray at this point, and as I drove and followed his directions, I continued to pray. I know my thoughts were from God, for there was that still, small voice telling me that everything was all right.
