Subscribing to our Leader's newspaper

From the July 1985 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As students of Christian Science, and in particular as members of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, we joyously accept the wonderful activities and provisions made for us by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for furthering our understanding and spiritual growth. This is a two-way street. We not only avail ourselves of the privileges of church membership; we also give of our gratitude, our devotion, and our support.

With what enthusiasm and joy we attend Sunday church services and Wednesday testimony meetings, and subscribe for and read our periodicals! These vital activities established by our Leader not only nourish and protect us; they afford us opportunities to serve and to bless our brother man. But in our gratitude for all that she provided for us, do we always include The Christian Science Monitor in our thought of the Church and in our prayers, and do we use the Monitor in our daily life?

Perhaps we could do more in this regard. Perhaps we could also let this precious gift of our Leader's do more for us. Do we recognize and acknowledge the Christliness of its mission? We can each ponder these questions, answer them in the quiet depths of our own hearts.
