A new psalm

From the December 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the August Journal, we noticed the most interesting excerpt from the conversation with Rabbi Weintraub. Referring to his book, Healing of Soul, Healing of Body: Spiritual Leaders Unfold the Strength & Solace in Psalms, interviewer commented, "One of the suggestions the book makes for people seeking healing is that they write a psalm themselves."

A professor of the London Conservatory introduced us in this way to the world of music. At the end of this course the professor asked every student to write a psalm and set it to music.

We were sitting half of the night on the corner of our bed to make a psalm with music for the next day. On the last day of the Summer Session the choir sang the psalms to members of all courses in a final session.

So we experienced by writing a psalm the big feeling of greatfulness and meekness. And this helped us get a very new idea of the healing presence of God.

Now we send to Journal readers this psalm set to music.

Our best regards and love,

A psalm to the Lord
