Something more than a gas mask

From the January 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I was listening to a Detroit radio station one night, when I heard the owner of a retail store say: "You never know what's in people's heads. But it seems to me that trying to find comfort in a $15 gas mask is not the way to go." He went on to say that some of his customers were so fearful about biological attacks that they cried when he told them he was all sold out.

What about safety from biological and chemical attack? Are gas masks the only practical hope?

My boss didn't insist I wear the thin protective mask that was available.
