He is choir director at his church and a teacher, instilling love of music in public-school students throughout New York City. He had his New York Philharmonic debut in November (2002). The Journal spoke with Mr. Rahming near his home in Harlem.

How did you get involved in the Jubal-ation project?

I had recorded a gospel song, "March On 'Til You Reach Your Victory," "March On 'Til You Reach Your Victory," songwriter: A. Lee Schofield; arrangement: Gregory E. Rahming & Mo James; Copyright BMI [no year] . and I wanted to record more songs like this. My gospel style is from a classical perspective so I needed the right avenue, and Jubal-ation provided it. Jennifer Foster and I had sung together for various Connecticut civic organizations, and we discovered that we shared a spiritual connection and a love of different musical genres. So when she asked if I would record with her, I felt that I wouldn't have to give up my "voice." I could bring my whole training and perspective to this project. It was a perfect fit.
