PEOPLE TAKING ACTION

Responding to humanity's quest for spirituality

From the October 2003 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The 2003 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church & Conference was held in June in Berlin, Germany; Boston, Massachusetts; and on the Internet. Since then, participants have sent letters, e-mail, and faxes that tell of fresh inspiration and a recognition that spiritual ideas provide a meaningful response to challenges in their communities. Many are also relating steps they are taking, as individuals and congregations, to communicate with other spiritual seekers about the healing message of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures; the woman who wrote it, Mary Baker Eddy; and the Church she founded to make it available to people around the world. Here is a sampling of their insights and experiences.

It was my first time attending an Annual Meeting. What an experience! My interest in Science and Health was reinvigorated, and I found myself finally wanting to read it through cover to cover, discovering new insights and probing deeper into already familiar ideas. I recognized how important it is to share this book, and my first destinations here at home will be the city library and the Protestant book room.
