I write this testimony with love to God and gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. In the winter of 1927 I was taken with a severe cold, which developed into pneumonia. At times, to mortal sense, I seemed to be passing "through the valley of the shadow of death," but with the help of a loving practitioner my consciousness became filled with the truth. I knew that God is my Life; and I clung to the Bible verse, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." I also kept before my thought the healing words of the Lord's Prayer.
My bowels did not move for three weeks, but through the understanding of the activity of divine Mind the action became normal. The healing seemed slow, but during this time many lessons were learned: patience, love, forgiveness, and a priceless understanding of our FatherMother God. I am so grateful to God; to our Way-shower, Christ Jesus; and to Mary Baker Eddy, whose clear, pure thought is blessing all mankind. I am also grateful for the Christian Science literature and testimonies. I was eighty-six years old when this healing took place, and I am in good health to-day. But as Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 468), "Eternity, not time, expresses the thought of Life, and time is no part of eternity."— Mason, Michigan.
