We learn early on that a law is only as powerful as the authority behind it. That’s a good thing to keep in mind when praying to resolve any kind of problem. As several articles in this month’s issue of the Journal explain, healing through prayer requires an understanding of where real authority lies—in God, the only true lawmaker. God, Love, is wholly good, and Love’s laws govern all of its creation in perfect harmony.
The world insists that there are other laws, wholly separate from God—laws based on the view of life as material and subject to sickness, sin, and other forms of discord. Christian Science shows that whatever is not good is not from God and therefore has no real authority over us. Healing happens when we understand that whatever isn’t of Love isn’t law.
