One summer, I was visiting Boston from Canada for the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church. I had been inspired by how the Church wraps its arms around the world, spreading the message of God’s love.
Late in the afternoon one day during my visit, I stopped at a fast food place and lost the fanny pack I’d been wearing. Anyone opening the pack would know how important all the items inside were to an international visitor (ID, passport, credit cards, etc.).
I remember the first thing I thought was that nothing could be lost because God exists and is supreme. His universal law of harmony governs us. I like this quote from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “Let us learn of the real and eternal, and prepare for the reign of Spirit, the kingdom of heaven,—the reign and rule of universal harmony, which cannot be lost nor remain forever unseen” (p. 208). This reassured me. I had a deep conviction and expectancy that things were going to work out; it was an unwavering trust in God. I have learned that God is worthy of my trust, so I resolved to persist with prayer.
