There are times when our immediate well-being depends on turning wholeheartedly to our loving God, and we have no other choice but to stop everything and listen for an answer. And when we do, we can trust that His help is swift.
One example of this was when I was frozen with fear while hiking on a steep mountain. Taking one step forward or back felt impossible. My friends had easily traversed the scree slope (a slope covered with small loose stones) and, not knowing of my mental agony, they were impatient for me to “come on!” I knew I had to move and silently cried out, “God help me!” And I listened for the inspiration I needed.
I silently cried out, “God help me!” And I listened.
