The power and reach of scientific thought

From the July 2025 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This article is part of a series appearing occasionally in the Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science. Each article aims to correct some misconception about Christian Science that would keep us from having the results we so desire as spiritual healers.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, observes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “In the material world, thought has brought to light with great rapidity many useful wonders.” And she continues with what she experienced: “With like activity have thought’s swift pinions been rising towards the realm of the real, to the spiritual cause of those lower things which give impulse to inquiry” (p. 268).
