When does healing happen in Christian Science? When we start to pray? When we feel our prayer is answered? Sometime in between?
There’s a story about Jesus’ healing that’s helpful in answering this question. Jesus called to a woman who was so bowed together that she couldn’t stand up straight. He said, “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.” Then, he healed her and she stood up normally (see Luke 13:11–13).
What’s interesting is that Jesus announced her normalcy and wholeness before he did the healing. It’s as if he said, “Woman, thou art already loosed from thine infirmity.”
