Beyond seeming frailty, disaster,
bonds, and belief,
there is hope.
Beyond hope,
the faith that says
God loves us, unconditionally.
Then beyond faith
a spiritual awakening,
a stilling of the storm,
fear dissipates,
understanding comes.
God is not in our whirlwind.
Instead we listen …
It is that still small voice
we hear, then beyond,
the deep-seated calm
for which we often yearn.
And beyond, and beyond,
like Job,
“Mine eye seeth thee.”
