Dear Readers...

From the April 1885 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear Readers,

My little son, five years old, was taken with scarlatina, sore throat and very high fever. The third day he broke out in a thick rash, the neck very much swollen, and throat worse. I felt that nothing but the power of God could save the child. He did save him, and he is perfectly well to-day, without one of the bad effects that scarlet fever often leaves in the old manner of treating. All the time he was sick his little play-mates would come in to see him, and play with him for hours. Not a single case was caught from this one, simply because they did not know of it.

[The saving courage and faith of the young scientist mother who writes the above, are sufficient answer to the scornful " Herald " editor's challenge to the Scientists to prove that their treatment can clog the wheels of contagion.]

Let us love, and the life of our hearts shall be a song-burst of goodness towards all.

For love is all harmony; and if you ask me what is this voice that sings, I will answer—it is the voice of the Believer.
