THE WAY

From the November 1913 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear heart, when error would thy life enthrall
To wrong beliefs of discord, sin, and death,
And try to make thy better impulse fall
Into the mire, despair not thou;
But ever searching, list'ning for the call
Of Love, pursue thy path along the straight
And narrow way. Since Love is All,
Then enter thou at Love's pure gate.

O child of God, take heart, and realize
That our dear Father to His flock has given
All good. If thou dost truly strive,
Thy gain shall be Life, Truth, and Love;
And thy goal heaven, where the All-wise
Shall face to face be seen. And fleet
On hope of faith, of peace, of purity, this prize
Shall lead thee upward, Him to greet.
