BELOVED

From the March 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear heart, you wait in loneliness and yearn
For that which is your very own this day—
Indeed, is ever yours would you but learn
The source of love to seek and there to stay
True comfort and companionship are there
Within the everlasting arms of Love;
There happiness replaces bleak despair,
And precious gifts are showered from above
Dear heart, you are beloved—beloved of God,
Who claims you now as His own perfect child,
And guides you always with true wisdom's light,
While guarding with compassion's staff and rod;
You are the loved of Love, pure, undefiled,
Secure forever in the way of right.
