THE OBLITERATION OF FALSITIES

From the February 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It was a memorable day when Mary Baker Eddy discovered that there is only one Mind, the divine Mind, or God. Obviously this Mind cannot conceive evil and disease or experience them. And the allness and exclusiveness of divine Mind leaves no room for another mentality either to originate evil and disease or to suffer from their inroads. No, there is no mentality to evolve these falsities and no mentality to be confused or frightened or hurt by them. They rate as downright impostors.

For ages it has been stated in the Bible that God is "of purer eyes than to behold evil." Christian Science is now proving the doctrine practical and regenerative. Every day, through the ministrations of this Science, are people being healed of their distresses and restrictions. The inescapable conclusion is that ills of the flesh lack genuineness, and hence are curable and even preventable through spiritual law understandingly invoked.

The moment any individual glimpses this inviolable truth his whole outlook on life brightens and ascends. He comes into that discerning, courageous state of consciousness which enables him to face trials and dangers as falsities. He walks the highway of existence in greater confidence and manliness as becomes his birthright. No longer does he grovel as a mortal, submissive to every suggestion of suffering, limitation, or peril. Understanding truth as taught in Christian Science, he begins to find himself a man with dominion "over all the earth, and over every creeping thing."
