CHRISTIANLY SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

From the October 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christianly scientific activity evidences the ceaseless co-ordination and continuity of divine ideas in the realm of infinite Mind. The unfoldment of Mind's ideas brings with it the law, power, authority, and immediate availability of His Word. This Christ-message, the knowledge that the kingdom of God is at hand, brings healing, redemption, and salvation to all.

Basically, Christianly scientific activity is the liberating and exalting influence of that pure Christianity contained in the Sermon on the Mount and reiterated in Christian Science. The fundamentality, strength, and beneficence of this Sermon and its Science are shown in its practical application to human affairs.

The first chapter of Genesis is Truth's revelation of the actual creation of man and the universe. Beginning with the sixth verse of the second chapter of Genesis we read of the suppositional activity of matter in contradistinction to Spirit's all-inclusiveness. But such activity as described in the allegory in the second and third chapters of Genesis was never real. It is the Adam-dream, which has no actuality. Humankind in general, however, believes in the mist creation, and in man as intelligent matter in action; whereas man's true being is the conscious embodiment, or image, of Mind, God.
