What very good news has recently been carried in the daily press concerning the liberation of thousands from political and economic bondage! The great hope is held that this liberation will be lasting, and that freedom may be enjoyed by all peoples.
Liberation, however, is not gained at the point of bayonets or with tanks and guns. Liberation, we learn in Christian Science, can be real and lasting only in the measure that each individual gains the true meaning thereof through the spiritual understanding which evangelizes the human heart. Nations and groups can rise no higher than the individuals of which they are composed.
"But why should I claim liberation for myself when I have never been under political or economic tyranny?" someone may ask.
