THE IMPERVIOUS ARMOR

From the June 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In time of great conflict men reach out for a sure defense. They know that success, and even survival, depends upon the soundness of their protection and their ability to use it. In every age God has been proved the great deliverer. To understand Him is our sure defense, and Christian Science unfolds this understanding.

There is a statement by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, which has afforded great protection to many of her loyal students. It is found on page 210 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," and reads: "Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them. It is plain that nothing can be added to the mind already full. There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness. Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from the attacks of error of every sort. And not only yourselves are safe, but all whom your thoughts rest upon are thereby benefited."

An "impervious armor" guarantees complete protection from danger. From time immemorial armor has been wrought from the most resistant substances available. The soldier is ever required to be equipped with his protection in time of battle. It must always be in working condition and ready for use. If he does not comply with this military demand, he endangers not only himself but others in the field of battle.
