GOD GIVES — MAN RECEIVES

From the March 1947 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Giver of every perfect gift,
May I Thy steward be.
As I receive Thy golden store,
I would increase it more and more,
Not hoard it miserly;
Freely receiving, gladly share
The wealth I have from Thee.

Giver of every perfect gift,
What mean Thy gifts to me?
Beauty for ashes, joy for grief,
Freedom from fear, from ills relief,
Ability to see
Thy goodness always, in all ways—
All this I owe to Thee.

Giver of every perfect gift,
My life must ever show
That all of good Thy children need
Is close at hand for those who heed
Thy Word. My light must glow,
My works reveal and glorify
The God I love and know.
