Poems

Possession

From the February 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Mine is the beauty of the sparkling spheres,
As I encompass them within my thought.
Mine is the wonder of the ageless years
Which prove the mortal sense of life is nought.

Mine is the Love that fills all space;
I cannot, then, be lonely or afraid.
Mine is the light that, shining, leaves no trace
Of darkness only earth clouds made.

Mine is the fullness of a life complete,
In which no lack or want can be;
Mine the abundance of all good to meet
The need of all mankind and me.
