Our Peace

From the January 1949 issue of The Christian Science Journal

No lasting peace is ever found without
As long as any tumult stirs within.
The slightest residue of fear and doubt
Can mar the quietude that we would win.

The peace of God is man's possession now;
He does not have to search for some retreat.
Be still, and know that God is good; allow
The infinite to make your calm complete.
