True Patience

From the April 1949 issue of The Christian Science Journal

They told me patience was still resignation,
An underbearing of inevitable woe.
They said that patience had a suffering designation.
But as I sighed, a stronger voice said, "No;
In patience there is no pitiful desolation;
It is a light, a hope unwearying.
Patience is an active expectation;
Patience is a glad continuing."
