In humble gratitude for the many blessings and healings my family and I have received the past twenty-six years through the study and application of Christian Science, I submit the following testimony.
When Christian Science was lovingly presented to me by a friend, I was in a wilderness of despair. As I wrestled with error, endeavoring to understand the truth, with the loving counsel and patience of a practitioner and after much study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was able to say with Jacob (Gen. 32:30), "I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved."
One of my first demonstrations in Science was the healing of a heart condition which I had had since infancy. All my life I had been subject to fainting spells. The doctors could locate no cause and suggested no cure, and these spells would come upon me without warning. About three months after I started to study Christian Science, I was alone on a streetcar one day when I felt a spell coming on. My first thought was one of fear; then I turned to God, and these words from the Bible, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble," flashed into my mind, followed quickly by, "They shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." The dizziness passed, and I was healed. That was twenty-six years ago, and this condition has never returned.
