Poems

Peace

From the January 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

These quiet days I pass in perfect peace,
Untouched by strife, untinged by future fears;
I take each moment at intrinsic worth
And seek no more my own. The path appears
Lighted by Love; I pray for eyes to see,
For ears to hear God's Word with constancy.

The foolish tumult of conflicting will
Is hushed to silence by the still small voice;
His strength sustains me, and His wisdom guides;
By angel thoughts companioned I rejoice;
In safe retreat I stand on hallowed ground.
And life's completion in His peace is found.
