"Jesus stood still"

Mark 10:49

From the January 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Knowing that God is One and good,
That His command, "Let there be light,"
Is not annulled, that flawless sight
Is man's forever, Jesus stood.

Knowing the singleness of will,
The might and wisdom of All-Mind,
He made no haste to heal the blind—
Seeing man whole, Jesus was still.

"Jesus stood still," centered in law,
Changeless, compassionate, aware
Of man as Love's illumined heir,
And the blind came, and the blind saw.
