My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the precious gift of Christian Science. I became acquainted with it as a small child when I had an extreme case of diphtheria. My mother turned to this Science for help, and I was instantaneously healed. I awoke from a stupor and was at once able to run and play, completely free.
Since that time I have proved the healing power of Christian Science numerous times. It has been a most treasured possession to me throughout the years, particularly in the rearing of our children. So-called childhood diseases have yielded quickly, broken bones have been set and healed, lost articles have been found, all through complete reliance on God as taught in Christian Science.
About five years ago I became ill with symptoms which I believed to be those of polio. A practitioner was called and did prayerful work. She talked with me about the nature of God and His perfect creation. Furthermore, she declared that symptoms of diseases were just suggestions of mortal mind and no part of my real existence. She pointed out that the real man lives not in an organized state of matter and mind united, but in a spiritual state of perfection, unchanged by any so-called laws of matter.
