Every right-thinking individual wants to make his contribution to the ultimate triumph of good over evil. In fact, in order to find his personal path to harmony he has no alternative but to conquer discord, in whatever form it appears, by daily seeking divine guidance. Now, as always, even a small understanding of spiritual truth works wonders, for it reveals that all problems, individual and collective, can be solved through the intelligent utilization of pure, Godlike thoughts.
As Christ Jesus and the prophets foretold troubled times, so Mary Baker Eddy foretold them. She foresaw the growing arrogance of error and knew that only a heart enlightened by spiritual understanding could successfully meet this challenge. She realized that humanity as a whole misunderstood the nature of God and man and that this chronic error of thought was responsible for all sin, sickness, and chaos. She taught that if harmony is to reign on the earth, the minds of men must be re-educated to the truth that all power is of God, the one divine Mind, and therefore spiritually mental.
With the revelation of Christian Science came the knowledge that men can be saved from themselves by scientifically thinking their way out of mental, moral, and physical discord. Thus Christian Science introduced a new manner and quality of thinking.
