THE ATTAINMENT OF GOOD

From the October 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Each individual must fill his own niche in time and eternity." This challenging statement is made by Mrs. Eddy on page 70 of her book "Retrospection and Introspection."

From a human standpoint, no two people have ever had exactly the same experience and physical appearance; and from a spiritual standpoint—the standpoint of Christian Science—each individual idea in divine Mind is distinct from every other idea. Since God is the creator of man, as we learn from the first chapter of Genesis, all men have in reality the same source or substance. As the reflection of God, each one expresses the qualities of God. Yet each one expresses them in a distinct and individual way.

Since all men have access to the one infinite source of all good, no one need ever be limited or restricted in his ability and freedom to express the abundance of ideas that originate in Mind. The supply of good is as unending and unlimited as the numbers used in mathematics. One never has to borrow a number from his neighbor. Only matter, which is a false concept and unknown to Spirit, God, is ever limited.
