THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE LECTURE—A BEACON

From the May 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"LET your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matt. 5:16). Mrs. Eddy so exemplified this precept of Christ Jesus that she was able to establish The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, upon the Rock, Truth, where it stands, a tower of spiritual light. Its varied activities encircle the globe and shine in dark places of fear and despair, enlightening lives with the assurances they bring of God's all-powerful goodness and ever-present love.

The Christian Science Board of Lectureship is one of these activities. It shines with a special light because it is designed not only to strengthen and encourage those who are already students of Christian Science, but to tell the facts of its teaching to others who know little or nothing about it.

Wherever a lecture is given by a member of this Board, in any part of the world, it is like a beacon, shining above human hopes and fears. Such a lecture reflects divine Love and life-giving Truth. Its steady rays guide to the haven of peace, spiritual understanding. Then the illumination of divine Science dispels earthly sorrows and reveals man, free and undefined, forever joyously advancing in the realm of reality, universal harmony.
