Individuality: Unique and Unlimited

From the June 1967 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Our individuality is a precious gift to us from God. It is found as each one of us consciously accepts his true identity as God's image, Mind's unique expression. Mrs. Eddy writes, "The spiritual man's consciousness and individuality are reflections of God." Science and Health, p. 336;

Each one of us has all the love, all the truth, all the good, he needs at any time, because in his true being he is the individual expression of infinite Mind. Each individuality is complete, dependable, and forever unfolding. Each one of us can trust God to supply inspiration and guidance moment by moment. We should distrust whatever limits our individuality. But this does not mean we should act without consideration for others, be boastful or dictatorial; nor does it mean that we do not need to pray humbly and listen for God's voice, since our ability to think and act individually comes from God.

Each one is important as God's image. Each one has a place that nobody else can fill. Each one has his own particular talent to share by reflection. No one can take another's place in the divine plan of unfolding Life. Without each one of His ideas perfectly and continuously reflecting creative Mind, God would be incomplete; the universe would collapse.
