OUR PERIODICALS

From the September 1970 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Carry us up on mighty wingspread of Science,
Beyond where the eagle rides the wind
And the skylark is lost in light.
Heal us so that we tender no demands,
But, claiming freedom, help mankind spring free,
Free and light in the joy of their progressing,
Safe and sure in the grandeur of the Word.

Show us the stars all held in Spirit's keeping.
Guide us by tranquil waters where the scene
Mirrors perfection's forms.
Sound the alarm and warn us if you must,
That we may catch the arrow in its flight,
Render it harmless in the quivering air,
Handled by purity of thoughts from Mind.

Awaken us, lest foolish we forget
Our precious sonship, heritage unsurpassed.
Help us to understand, comfort with Truth.
Lead us to set aside our human self,
To take our Love and use it, prove its presence,
Demonstrate good as all, prove Jesus' words:
"The kingdom of God is within you."
