I Need Church

From the February 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

People everywhere are longing for unity. "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Ps. 133:1; sang the Psalmist.

When you join a Church of Christ, Scientist—not only The Mother Church but its branch in your locality—and work unselfishly with others toward the goal of healing, you feel this spiritual unity. You feel the beauty of holiness and unite more closely with the source of that holiness— God. This is a unique experience, unparalleled in human life.

It is divinely natural to feel this unity; yet I had to learn it, and perhaps my experience will help someone else to see how much he really needs church.
