The Desire to Heal

From the October 1975 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To help and heal others is certainly a wonderful goal. Could there be any higher aim than to pray the prayer that heals our fellowman? The expression of brotherly love—the sharing of divine Love—comes from an understanding of God and accomplishes unlimited good.

Through the teachings of Christian Science the desire to heal can be cherished, nurtured, and protected, until it takes root and blossoms in grand results. When we realize we have the same Mind that was in Christ Jesus, we naturally reflect God's healing love. The desire to heal is related to the desire to give, to express the merciful, salutary influence of divine Love.

This natural Christian inclination can be cultivated scientifically. Healing desire and ability can be strengthened through our spiritual growth and regeneration.
