What Needs Correcting?

From the February 1975 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When consciousness is flooded with clear spiritual perception and understanding, so that we awake to the presence of the Christ, the incorporeal idea of God, then that which pictures itself as material, limited, and discordant, is unmasked as wholly illusive. Mrs. Eddy writes: "Matter is neither self-existent nor a product of Spirit. An image of mortal thought, reflected on the retina, is all that the eye beholds."Science and Health, p. 479;

Whatever is mortal is a misconception, an illusion occurring only because of ignorance of Truth.

If we are to come out from under the adverse influence of ignorance of Truth, spiritual education is needed. Knowledge of the spiritual nature of man dispels the ignorance of that which actually is: the reality of omnipresent Spirit. The Master, Christ Jesus, said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."John 7:24; And righteous judgment in the deepest sense, as Christian Science teaches, requires us to look through the mental mist or misleading image and find God and man's perfection.
