It seemed to his friends that Simon had become
a hard man,
No longer ready to fish with them—all involved with
his new religion.
They may have called him fanatical.

But to Jesus, who loved him, he was "Peter,"
Who understood that the rock of Truth is the
real basis of love,
And on this point he was radical.
