Christ Jesus' healing, saving mission might be explained in six words: "I and my Father are one."John 10:30. What a successful, perfect relationship! Father and Son. Infinite Mind and infinite idea, forever united. And each of us is in fact blessed with the same divine unity the Master claimed and demonstrated. We actually preexist, coexist forever with our Father-Mother God.
The great spiritual fact of man's unity with God is the foundation of heaven and a sure basis of healing. We don't have to entreat the Father to come closer to us. You can't get any closer than at-one-ment. But we do need to be constantly aware of our unity with God and to prove it in our daily life. Prove our oneness with Truth by being honest, law-abiding, strictly ethical: men and women of integrity. Prove our oneness with Soul by being peaceful, joyous, pure, spiritually-minded; cherishing our own and others' unique and precious individuality. And prove our oneness with Love by being loving, tender, forgiving, compassionate—generous and magnanimous toward others. Demonstration of the divine qualities is verification of our unity with God.
Schisms, contention, misunderstandings, resentment among people, deny divine unity, deny man's basic oneness with and inseparability from God. Jesus declared, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand."Matt. 12:25. How many examples of this confront us on the human scene!
