Demarcation

From the January 1984 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Once I saw myself in
can-of-worms relationship with error.
How difficult it was to sort out
which was it, and which was me—
tangled inextricably
spiritual selfhood/mortal susceptibility.

Now I can more clearly see
God's man not guilty of complicity in error.
And Truth shows me this clear demarcation:
that God knows just the Christ in me
welded indissolubly
spiritual selfhood my only identity.
