In September 1958 my first testimony was printed in the Journal. I never dreamed that the beautiful teachings of Christian Science could continue to bless me and mine so abundantly in the more than twenty-five years since then! The spiritual growth, lovely healings of physical, business, and other types of difficulties, have continued to come about through radical reliance on God for healing as taught in Christian Science.
The years which followed publication of that first testimony were enriched by the birth of three more children, making a total of eight. According to friends, throughout this time ours was one of the happiest homes they knew. At one point, a newspaper of the city in which we were living chose our family as the "Christian Family of the Year." All of the children attended Christian Science Sunday School, and I have had the privilege of serving as Second Reader, organist, chairman of our branch church executive board, and chairman of many committees.
We have had many outstanding healings in these active years. Once, while pouring out some boiling-hot frosting, I accidentally spilled it on both my wrists and hands. The pain was excruciating. However, I knew that if the spiritual statements I had just been sharing with a friend over the phone were true, then they were true now and could heal me.
