Is our concept of church declining or expanding?

From the April 1987 issue of The Christian Science Journal

You say your branch church membership is declining? What a good opportunity to awaken thought to a higher concept of God's Church—the Church that can never decline!

Insofar as a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, embodies the spiritual definition of Church given in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, it can never decline or break up or be dismissed, for it is demonstrating the ever-present power of Christ, Truth. This definition reads: "Church. The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle.

"The Church is that institution, which affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils, or error, and healing the sick." Science and Health, p. 583.
