Testimonies of Healing

From the July 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the summer of 1987 a lot of renovation work was being done at my place of work, and whole departments were being moved about inside the building. All the employees had to put up with a lot of construction noise, dust, and extra work. Consequently, the various parties were frequently impatient or irritated.

One day I noticed that a small growth had formed on the back of my head. At first I didn't pay any particular attention to this, but the condition increased in size and I often felt pressure in my head. This situation forced me to decide whether I had sufficient trust in God to rely on Him for healing, or whether I would turn to medical help. It took me a while to reach a definitive answer.

The condition seemed threatening. To overcome the fear, my wife and I prayed to become more conscious of God's omnipotence and omnipresence. I never had to miss work. Time and again I turned to God in order to gain a greater understanding of Him. The following questions occupied my mind: "How many times have I read about healings in the Bible? Do I believe what I have read? Do I have faith in this God? Is my affection and love for Him, the creator of man, sufficient?"
