A while back a young man was stabbed and taken to the hospital. Late that afternoon the attending physician urged his mother to go home; there wasn't much hope that her son would live.
That same day, members of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, were completing their preparations for giving a lecture that evening. A poster was in the Reading Room window. The man's mother saw it on her way home, and in her anguish decided to attend. She listened. After the lecture was over, she waited to speak with the lecturer. She wanted that book (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy) which the lecturer had talked about. The church had run out of copies, so the lecturer gave the mother her own.
